- One day long ago a Priest and a Parson were out fowling. Each of them had a dog.
They began to compare their dogs, each one saying that his dog was the best.
After some time the Priest said "I'll bet my dog will do what your dog wont do."
"I'll bet he will not eat meat on Friday".
So the Parson bet he would. They parted on conditions that they would meet at the same place on the following Friday.
When Friday came they both met again accompanied by their dogs.
The Priest had a piece of meat with him. He threw it to the dog. The dog began to smell it.
"Friday" said the Priest! "Friday" was the dog's name, but the Parson did not now that. Of course the dog came up when called.
The Parson was surprised and lost his bet. - "A funny Story"(continues on next page)
