    "The Cuckoo."
The cuckoo arrives in this district about the middle of April and she leaves again early in August.
She is not a good songster she only sings "Cuckoo, cuckoo."
The cuckoo differs from any other bird in one way; that is she never builds a nest of her own. The mother cuckoo chooses a nest of some other bird usually the thrushes or the blackbird's nest and lays one egg (in egg) in each nest. When she has the egg deposited she takes out one of the other birds eggs and eats it so that when the other bird returns she will not notice the extra egg in the nest.
The is an old rhyme as regard the cuckoo.
    "In April whets her bill,
    In May sings all day,
    In June changes her tune,
    In July prepares to fly
    In August go she must"
    "The Mag."
The mag is a fairly big bird. She is a black and white colour.
She builds her nest in high trees like the crow. She lays six or seven eggs
