Ned Mc Hugh of Tullynaha could mow an acre and a half in 1 day. Peter Mc Gourty who lived in the "poorhouse" in Slievenakilla could mow 2 acres in 1 day. Note: The "poorhouse" was a dwelling-house along the mountain road leading through the townland of Slievenakilla. It was built on the mountain.
- Great Swimmers and Oarsmen:James Mc Morrow of Fahy, Ballinaglera swam from Lake Allen shore to Inch Island and back again in 20 minutes.Johnny Foley was a great oarsman. He lived in the townland of Killgarbh.
