In June 1847 a tall man and his daughters, were travelling from Ballinaglera district and had arrived at Bernard Costello's, Shramore about dusk. They called at the Costello home and asked for food, which they received. After some time they left carrying the food with them.The Costello family were awakened next morning by the young girl who had called the previous evening.
