- There is a holy well in Kilmorna. It is called St. Mary's well. There was once a fish in this well but when the black and tans were going the road one day they went in to the field to get a drink of water. When they saw the fish one of them fired a shot at it. When the people came to the well next day they saw it covered with blood and it was at the other side of the ditch. There was once a holy well in Knockanare. Once upon a time a women bought a house in Knockanure. Next day she went to the well in the neighbouring land. But she did not know it was a holy well. She got the bucket of water and carried it home and from that on she had bad luck.
