- People make a cross of rushes on Saint Brigid's Day. A kind of procession called the "biddy" goes around on this day. All these people are dressed up as wren boys. "The biddy" is a doll. They go from house to house singing and asking money for the "biddy".
Chalk Sunday is the first Sunday of lent. Some of the young boys and girls used to chalk people's coats on this day.People eat a lot of eggs on Easter Sunday.
