- My Grandmother's Grandmother ground her own wheat and corn with her own quern.
Potato-cake was made with mashed potatoes and flour mixed together with a little new milk.
Stampy was made with raw potatoes grated mixed with flour and moistned with a little cream or milk.
Oaten-bread was made from oaten-meal and very little flour and wet with milk.
Pan-cakes were made from "beastings". "Beastings" is the second milk got from the cow after the cow has calved.
Paca was made from whole meal and wet with water.
Bread was made every day.
