- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and wholes were bored in it. Then they were scraped out very finely into a clean basin and a grain of salt, and flour, were mixed through it. Then it was put down into a griddle to bake and when it was baked it was very black.
Bread was made about every second day.
There was always a cross put on top of an oven cake before putting it down to bake.
Bread was baked in an oven, a pot-oven, a pan, and a griddle.
Oaten-bread was often baked in front of the fire with a support against it.
Griddle bread was always used long ago and it is still used round the district yet.
On St. Patricks Day potato-cake was made. On November night pancakes with rings in them are made, and pancake's are also made on Shrove Tuesday.- Bailitheoir
