“In the village of Roundfield there is a fort and it is said that there a pot of gold in it...”
In the village of Roundfield there is a fort and it is said that there is a pot of gold in it and that there is a dog minding it. One time a voice came to a man and told him to go to the cross in Athenry at Mass time and that he would get a big knife at the cross and that it would kill he dog and then he could get the pot of gold. The man went and he got the knife and when he went into the field where the fort was, the field shook and the man got afraid and he went home.- Collector
