    The making of toy horses
    Toys were also made by the boys. One of their favourite toys was the horse which they made as follows:- A big spool was got into which were stuck four matches to form the feet. A thin stick forming the neck was then stuck in a head shaped potato and put on the spool. Horse-hair was then attached to form the tail.
