    St Ronan is supposed to have been the father of St Lasar and Kilronan graveyard is named in his honour.
    St Patrick:
    Although the patron saint of the parish of Ardcarne is St Michael, the people have no devotion to him and have practically no knowledge of anything pertaining to his life.
    The old people say that after St. Patrick had baptised the two beautiful daughters of King Leary - Etna, the fair, and Fidelma the Ruddy - he journeyed on as far as Boyle, and after converting many in the immediate neighbourhood, he set out to make a wider tour of the surrounding country.
