    of the commander of a French ship. He owned Mount Campbell in Drumsna. His ancestors were in the district for over a hundred years. He was very good to his tenants especially to the poor and had never any evictions. The farms were divided under his guidance and as far back as sixty years ago the farms were divided among the poor. When selling out his property to the tenants he reserved the timber and shooting rights. This sale took place over thirty years ago.
