When they were dancing the Sets now they keep going jogging all the time while long ago they used to time out every bar of musicLong ago the dances used to be held at the cross-roads, and every boy and girl out of the houses used to attend. In the evening they were always held, and the youngsters would be home before night. The used to always bring a churn dash and a big soda cake and the nicest girl at the dance would get the cake put in her lap and the churn dash p(l)aced beside it.There used also be what they called "Balls" held in the neighbouring houses, and used to pay sixpence going in. Instead of that now some people put a thing up or raffle it as they say. This was a great custom of the peoples about ten years ago, but nowadays they have(continues on next page)
