The farmer asked him where his dog was. He told the farmer that he wanted no dog. The farmer then told him to gather in the sheep and he started off.
When Duignan was following one of the sheep a hare rose out off a bush and Duignan thought that it was a sheep and he followed it up until he got the hare into the yard along with the sheep. When the farmer came out to look at the sheep Duignan showed him the "sheep" he got most bother with. This sheep was the hare.
