The cow-house is called the byre. The cows are tied by chains around their necks to stakes. There is not a branch or emblem hung in the byre around here for luck. When the people are finished milking they make the sign of the cross on the cows udder. Tuk is the call for hens. Wheet is the call for ducks.(no title)
