shoemaker in Drumcomney. A women and her son went for a pair of boots to him. The boy put on the boots and wore them home. As they were going home they had to pass through a fort. The boy fell going through the fort and the woman instead of "God bless us" said "the new boots will kill you".
When they went home the boy got sick and never got better. It was believed that he was taken away in the fairies. There are not much clogs worn now.
