- Frank McKeon of Gortinure saw a leprechán in the fort that is in Gortinure. At the time Frank saw him he was carrying an awl. Frank followed him and when he was near him he dropped the awl. When he stooped down to pick up the awl the leprechan disappeared. He brought home the awl with him. He kept a hog at the time. When he was ringing the hog he had to bore the hog's nose with the awl because there were no rings at that time like the ones we have now.
While he was boring the nose with his awl the hog shook his head and the awl went up in the air. It is said that the little man must be one side wanting his awl.- Collector
