    to this evicted farm. Some would have scythes others rakes and ropes. They would cut a field of grass and carry it to the other man's land. The following days he would make it into hay for winter use.
    In a few nights after another farmer would go with his group of helpers and do likewise with another field of grass. In this way most of the farm was utilized every year. I may mention that every night that such operations were taking place two sentries were posted near the Barracks equipped with whistles so that the police, if they left Barracks, these sentries could give the alarm and the farmers could clear before the arrival of the police.
    It was said that not one, that ever foot grass in this way of this particular farm, but found some strange noises, or would have some peculiar experience while at the work.
    Hereunder a Description of One Such.
    James Magovern of Co. Galway still living but near ninety years of age one year bought a field of grass on this farm and had 7 or 8 others helping to remove the grass to his own farm. Among them being Francis Bohan of Killafee who is still living but over 80.
