group were at work for a couple of hours two or three of them saw two big men coming in the direction of them dressed in black and about ten or twelve perches away.
All hands grew alarmed, fearing that these two men were police men. (R.I.C), and were preparing to clear off. Gathering up their clothes and weapons; when James Magovern called out them, - the workers and said "Take your time, boys, wait till I see."
James Magovern left the field and went straight in the direction of the strangers. The other workers ceased work for the time, stood and watched. They noticed that as Magovern drew near the strangers, they turned and went in another direction. Magovern got within a couple of yards of them before they turned, and as they wheeled. Magovern shouted back to his comrades. "Work away! Boys! Don't be afraid! They are not living men! They are not of this earth at all.
