    turning black, they say the weather is getting bad, as rain may be expected
    When a fire is put down, and that the smoke goes up straight in the air, it is the sign of good weather. In the evening if the sun sets red, the weather is always good. It is also the sign of good weather if the East end of the sky is red.
    Birds are noted weather experts. If we had time to watch their movements they would tell us if it was going to be wet or fine. The robin will get very tame before a snow storm and will come into a house for food,
