    will be good weather
If the weather is going to be wet the water hen will build her nest on the bank of a river so that the water will not destroy it. If it is going to be dry she will build it very near the water. When the hen stands gazing it is a sign of bad weather.
A wet May and no rain in June makes the farmer whistle a happy tune.
