    in it, and at the present time it is still known as the fort of the Fairies.
    There is also an old road going through the townland, which the French travelled, when going to the battle of Ballinamuck in the year 1798. In olden times it was called the "valley of the Black Pig"
    There is a stream in the townland and there is a small river also, and some of the land there is gorse growing on it. There is no wood or lake in it.
