the meadow, and when he was passing a lone bush near the fort, he saw a little man sitting on a stool under the bush, and he had a boot, and a hammer in his hand. The man went towards him; but before he was gone far the little man was gone out of sight. He had a red cap on him, and a blue coat, and white breeches, and he was about 3 ft high, and he had a face like an old man.
The man went to the meadow, and he came back the same way; but when he went home the horse which he was drawing the hay with was dead, and the man said that the little man was a Leipreachan, and he was never seen anymore.
