    Like giants stand out o'er the Vale's emerald sheen,
    Entranced I still gazed till my heart beat to see
    The halls of my sires by the Vale of Tralee.

    Hail! Carrigafoyle, where O'Connor the brave
    Reigned in his stronghold by Shannon's bright wave
    From Finglass mountain torrent along to Asdee,
    All owned his proud sway to the Vale of Tralee.

    And the Clairseach's sweet notes made the echoes [?]
    And the Grandness of Spain came afar o'er the sea
    To visit O'Connor by the Vale of Tralee!
