- About thirty years ago a wrecked ship came into Ballyheigue bay. The name of it was Catherina Richards. A man from the mountain saw it first. All the people came after Mass to look at it. The Mc Cowen said the barley in the vessel belonged to them. Horses were employed and the corn was drawn to Tralee. The ship was been broken up. A man shouted from the top of the ship to keep back. One little boy was running back and he was killed because a pole fell on his head.
