- At home we have many domestic animals namely, horses, cows, pigs, cats, dogs, and calves. Many of the cows have names such as Bluebell, Daisy, Blackie, Polly. When we are driving cows into the field we say "how, how, how".
Most cowhouses are built of concrete covered over with sheet-iron and whitewashed inside. Along the wall are stakes to which chains are attached. These are tied around the cows necks. On St. Bridgids night a cross is hung in the stall to bring luck on the cattle.- Collector
