  1. There are four corners on my bed, there are four angles on it spread, Mathew Mark Luke and John, God bless this bed that I lay on, Seven candles lit, seven Priests singing, seven bells ringing, shut the gates of Hell and open the gates of Heaven and let this poor soul in, if I die before I wake, and if any evil comes to me the Lord of Lady waken me. Corpus Christi on my breast above in heaven my soul at rest.
This prayer was said by the old people long ago when they were lying in bed at night.
