Or do you return from a fair"?
Says I "She belongs to my father
But little he knows that she's here"
Of cows he has more than a dozen,
And this one I think he can spare,
But, if I get on to my lodging
Perhaps I'd find more of them there
    IV
So they instantly had me surrounded,
Demanding to where I should pass,
    I said seeming somewhat confounded,
"How far is it ti Attymass.
For there I intend to get lodging"
Said one "Do you stop near the mill"
Said I "Then as far as I'm judging
I'll go near the top of the hill"
    V
And said one in a tone of detection,
"Perhaps with ourselves you might stay
You'll find not a safer protection
Until you have clean light of day"
I said "Sir I needs must refuse you
Since here I can't longer delay
So I thank you and beg you'll excuse me
Till the next time I'm coming the way.
