- The bread we ate was oat bread, potato cake and boxty.
The oat bread was made with oat meal and water and it was baked on a griddle.
The potato cake was made by peeling the soft potatoes and bruising them and throwing flour on them and rolling them out with a bottle then cut them in squares and then they are ready for baking. They are baked in an oven or pan.
Boxty is made by getting new potatoes and peeling them and then to grate them with a grater. Then there is soda and flour and milk put in it and to blend it and then it is put in an oven to rise.- Collector
