    On the eleventh of November a day of high renown. John Mc Carraic sold his heifer to Craig in Charlestown. He bought this calf in Swinford and he made a great mistake. But when the fault was told to him I thought his heart would break. Five pounds ten he paid for her as thrue as Im alive. But now he has to sell her for a pound or one pound five. He had her at a many a fair and I will tell you without a lie. But when he had to drive her home again and he began to cry. When he drove her home the neighbours all ran out. Where did you get that calf John she has got a grand pig's snout. This is made about sixteen years. This was made by a man in Dawris. His name
