In 1904 the lace began
As every one does know.
The ladies all, big and small
Came here for sweet mayo.
They start at 10 in the morning
And work there until 3
When they come out they laugh and shout
And off home to their tea.Every monday morning
To the lace room they will go.
The frames under their arms
And needles for to sow.
When they turn round with lace to the ground
It looks so neat and grand,
None can compare to the ladies there
And needles in their hands.When the ladies arrive home
