Long ago the land was very bad, barren and marshy and unfruitful and the only crop that grew in it was rye. There was an herb growing in the land that nothing but geese could eat and everyone at that time had large flocks of geese on this mountain. The people living in the townland now are very industrious and they have reclaimed the land and with the help of manures any crop can be raised there even beautiful crops of wheat(continues on next page)
