    half-doors which helped to give light to the inside of the house. There was a plentiful supply of turf in the district which helped to keep the house warm and comfortable. The lighting of the house consisted of splinters made of bog-dale until moulds came into use with which they made candles of the tallow of sheep and other animals which were killed.
