There was a school in Killelton and the man's name who taught there was Sullivan John. At that time the scholar paid a penny a week to the Master and they were called the penny Masters'. - The School at Kellelton.
There was an old school at Killelton long ago. the man who was teaching there was called Maher. The school was built above the old Dingle road. It was built of sticks, old sallies, and stones. There was no door in it but a bush. They used make a hole in the wall and they used make a fire and the smoke used go out that way.
