that there were springs and that when you leaned on the spring it used fall down and let the man drop down into the river and close up again. the man put on his clothes and waited till they all got up in the morning. Out in the kitchen with him very quick and found his dog sitting outside door. He went to the police and reported the matter. The police came and inspected the whole thing. Sommer's was arrested and transported for life and from that day to this the hole where the men were drowned is called Poll Sommer's.
