The Kiltallagh people had to retreat before the Keel people who were firing as fast as they could.
When the Keel people were at the west corner of Castlemaine a stone was fired at Edward Rae and it grazed his ear.
Again he rose his gun and told the stranger do the same so they held firing until they had the Kiltallagh people drove across the priest's house.
When the Kiltallagh people saw that the Keel people were getting too good for them they raised a cry to the Keel people to stop firing or they would kill them all.
The Keel people stopped and when they stopped the Kiltallagh people came up to them. and said they would challenge them in fight without any guns but sticks and hurleys in the battleground of Tralee.
On the day of the fight all the people of Keel and Kiltallagh were in Tralee. The Keel leader was Edward Rae and his weapon was a sword for the day.
The Keel people numbered more than the Kiltallagh people and on that account(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
