  1. More than one hundred years ago my grandfather Matt Connolly lived in the townlland of Culticare in the parish of Ahamlish. At that time long journeys were done either on foot or on horseback. My grandfather owned a very valuable horse and was accustomed to visit relations of his who lived in the townland of Clonarca, near Cliffoney in this parish. He always rode on horseback when going on these visits and usually returned
