There are two special fairs for horses one in Ballyshannon and the other one in Carrick na geat. On the sixteenth of September in Ballyshannon and on the second of February in Carrich na geat. Anybody who wants to sell or buy horses goes to one of these fairs. When selling horses they always give away the halter which is on the horses head for luck. That is all they do at the fairs.
