- The Leipreachan In nearly every place in Ireland one will meet superstitions people. These people would tell you many old fairy stories if you asked them. Some of the stories might be about ghosts, fairies or goblins. The leipreachan is a prominent figure in fairy stories. He is supposed to be a cobbler and he dresses in red. He is supposed to be very small and sometimes he can be heard ''cobbling'' in the fields.Of course here are no fairies or leipreachan in existence. The real explanation is about the leipreachan is when the thrush catches a snail he hits it against a rock and that accounts for the cobbling.
