- The Leiprechan is a cobbler by trade and he only works in the moonlight.
He is about five inches high and he has a green jacket and a red hat, he wears a blue velvet hat trousers and white shoes and his hair is usually curly.
His house is a mossy banks and there are three windows and a small brown [?] door. and there is one kitchen and one room in the house.
people in Ireland go out hunting in the moonlight for the leipreachan and the only way to catch him is when they hear him mending shoes.
When they catch him they make him promise that he will give them a bag of gold but if they take their eyes of him he will vanish.
Mermaids are not very common round the coast of Ireland but are said to give warning to sailors when anythings is going to happen to their ship.
The mermaid has a long fish tail its hair is made of seaweed and they are said to be beautiful singers- Collector
