- Once upon a time here lived in a portion of the parish of Curry called Móinte a very strong man. His name was Jack Séan Mhóir.
He was noted for his strength.
Like many of his neighbours he went to England to the harvest. He got work at a farmer and he was not bong there until he noticed his great strength.
He made a bet with another farmer that Jack could raise two men on his hands.
A man stood on each hand and he raised them over his head and sat upwards.
His maste was so proud of him that he gave him the bet of £10.- Collector
