    be started, a churning had to be made first, John got everything ready and commenced churning he found he had no spring water he must leave--off churning and go to the well which is a good distance away from the house. When he got back the fire was getting low so he must attend to the fire, then a pig pot must be put on, he filled the pot with potatoes and put it on the fire and then resumed his churning again. When he was a short time churning the pot let a loud crack on the fire and split in two, he made a terrible mistake, he put no water in the pot. What would he do at all when the wife would come in.
