stories told of people who caught the leipreacan but he always escaped, and no one ever got his gold.
Leipreacans are looked upon as friendly beings. Sometimes they will do a good turn to people whom they like or who they think have tried to help them. Stories are told of how leipreachans do not like special trees or bushes to be cut down. If they are cut down, bad luck follows the person who has cut down these trees.
