- Long ago the old houses were not built the same as they are nowadays.
About sixty years ago there was an old house built in a bog. It was built out of the bog. The floor was built out of the earth and the roof was made out of sticks and turf.
It was an old woman that lived in this old house whose name was Judy Lynch.
On this house there were no chimneys. It was on the middle of the floor the old woman had the fire. The fire consisted of sticks, turf and coal.
At that time the old people used keep their beds in a hole beside the fire. This places was called a pouch.
