    did not take up any place in the kitchen. It was generally covered with curtains.
    The houses were all thatched, some of them with straw but the most of them with rushes. The floors in the houses were very bad as the people knew nothing about cement.
    They also had very bad light. they burned only rush candles and of course they showed very bad light. They were sold in shops and when the people wanted to light them they had to dip them in oil.
