  1. There are not as many strange animals now as there used to be. There was a wild black pig seen in a valley in Carrownacluane, about two hundred and fifty yards away from Tom Reilly's house, Carrownacluane, Conway's Cross, Riverstown, Co Sligo. In the spot where the pig died there came forth a well and its name is Tobar Na Muca. It is still a good well and the people uses it. It is a small round well about four feet deep. There was a water horse seen in Lough Bó in the parish of Gleann, Co. Sligo, and he followed a man at night. There was a water dog killed in Bogah bog, in the parish of Geevagh, and in the Co. Sligo.
