- There were many strange animals in olden times, but there are more that the old people know now, also there used to be many stories told about them. They know where there were two large swans in beside Ballyfarnon in a lake. It is said that if any person interfered with them they would kill them with their magic wands, they went away after some time. There was a wild animal seen at Dromahair in the river Bonet. It is said that he had no head on him. Also in the olden times there used to be many wild cats. There is a place in Tom Conlon's land called Lug a Honey.
