- Old Irish Tales 18th July 1938
One day when the Fenians were out hunting, they saw a fox and they hunted her to a cave. The fox went into the cave and Fionn Mac Cumhail and his son Oisin followed her.
The cave was in the Keash mountain and it was owned by three witches. Across the dor of their cave these witches had spun yarns of thread like a spider's web. Whoever touched the thread would fall under the spell. When Fionn and Oisin followed the fox into the cave they broke some of the threads and fell to the ground exhausted.
The witches bound them and carried them away into the darkness. Other Fenians followed in search of them and they in turn were caught in the trap.
At last all the Fenians were caugh except Goll Mac Morna.
The hounds of the Fenians remained outside the cave crying for their masters. Goll heard them and hurried to the place. The witches were(continues on next page)- Collector
