    or rags in order to disguise themselves and went to the house where the wedding was held. Usually they trust a large pole in on the door with a slip of paper on the top of it on which were written their demands. If they did not get what they asked they usually became very angry and did some damage to the mans house or property. Sometimes they sang songs or said things that were not very pleasing to the bride and groom. Most people invited the straw-boys in and gave them drink and intertaenment then one of the straw-boys took the bride out for a dance and that was thought to bring her good luck.
