    morning was supposed to have all the luck of that house for the year. Women sometimes went to their neighbor’s well early that morning and skimmed it with the belief that they were gathering luck and prosperity for themselves for the year. It was supposed to be lucky to step out of the bed on that morning with the right foot forward.
